A Proven Process
This residency isn’t theory – it’s hands-on training for real-world church planting. Through our R.O.P.E.S. training method, you’ll be equipped to move from vision to launch with confidence:
Research
Know your community. Study the culture. Identify the mission field God is calling you to.
Observe
Learn by doing. Engage ministry in your sending church and gain insights from active church plants.
Present
Cast vision with clarity. Share your strategy with mentors and peers, and even preach your Opening Day sermon.
Evaluate
Sharpen your approach. Receive honest feedback and refine your plan for maximum impact.
Support
Walk together. Be encouraged and challenged by peers who are planting alongside you.

A Shared Journey
The Carolina Movement Residency isn’t a solo mission – it’s a shared journey. You’ll be trained, challenged, and equipped through three integrated components:
LIVE VIRTUAL TRAINING
- Weekly cohort sessions every Wednesday, 9am-3pm (Eastern) on Zoom.
- Learn directly from 30+ national church planting leaders and practitioners.
- Network with peers and mentors who share your passion for multiplication.
ONLINE COURSEWORK & ASSIGNMENTS
- Dive into engaging online content, blogs, podcasts, and videos.
- Develop contextual strategies specifically for your church plant.
- Build a custom action plan with dates, doers, and dollars to move from vision to launch.
IN-PERSON INTENSIVES
Why This works
This residency combines training, community, and accountability to give you the tools – and the people – you need to plant a multiplying church.
What’s Expected of You
Planting a church requires sacrifice and commitment. The residency is designed to stretch your time, talent, and treasure as you prepare to launch. Here’s what’s expected:
- Application & Registration – Submit your application with a $500 registration fee.
- Commitment – A nine-month journey of training, coaching, and preparation.
- In-Person Gatherings – One kickoff event (1 day) and two extended gatherings (4 days each) in Chantilly, VA.
- Weekly Training – Six-hour virtual cohort sessions every Wednesday, 9am-3pm (Eastern).
- Travel – Cover the cost of travel to the three in-person gatherings.
- Character – Bring the courage and perseverance needed to do the hard work of planting.

You’re not just joining a program-you’re stepping into a movement. Here’s what you need to move forward:
Sponsor Involvement
You must have a sponsoring church and/or church planting network that endorses your participation.
You also need a local church congregation to provide serving and training opportunities.
Your sponsor must join the onboarding Zoom call.
Limited Space
Spots are filled first-come among qualified applicants who complete the application and approval process.
Application Process
You must be recommended by a sponsoring organization or sending church.
